Global Package holds ample inventory of the eco-friendly and sustainably produced RUDE collection of glass bottles for wine and spirits from Estal

Global Package Exhibiting at the 2023 ADI Craft Spirits Conference and Vendor Expo

Global Package will be exhibiting again at the American Distilling Institute’s Craft Spirits Conference & Vendor Expo in Las Vegas on August 23rd and 24th. For over 20 years, the ADI has played a major role in bringing together the craft spirits industry and has provided us with another great opportunity for us to reunite with familiar friends and get to know new ones.

Global Package along with Estal Packaging will be at Booth #206 at The Mirage Convention Center show hall. Ready to unpack the core of your brand, we’ll provide effective packaging solutions no matter your budget or expectations.

Among many of our outstanding and innovative packaging solutions, we will be exhibiting the new RUDE collection from Estal. With an eco-friendly and sustainable production resulting in an intentionally uneven and blemished glass bottle aesthetic, the charm of the RUDE collection lies in perfect imperfections.

It’s still not too late to purchase a ticket direct from the ADI to see our comprehensive off-the-shelf portfolio and customization opportunities yourself, and discuss with our knowledgeable team the packaging vision you have for your brand.

We are now preparing our calendar for this incredible event, and we would love to connect with you during the conference. If you’re planning to be there, kindly let us know by reaching out to me directly via email at eharrop@globalpackage.net or through the ‘Send Us a Question’ feature on our website. This will enable us to schedule a time to meet with you to discuss any queries you have about our products, or our range of services. We look forward to the opportunity to meet you in person.

We’re looking forward to seeing you all soon!

If you are unable to attend the exhibition, but still want to see our range including the new RUDE collection by Estal, please contact us by calling 707 224 5670 or emailing info@globalpackage.net for more information.

Global Package’s Sue Keechler to Speak at Napa Thrives Events

Erica Harrop, President and CEO of Global Package LLC, announced that Sales Account Manager, Sue Keechler, will be a guest speaker at the Napa Thrives Climate Action Six-Event Series being held June 7th through 23rd at the Charles Krug Winery in St. Helena CA. Tickets can be purchased here: https://www.eventbrite.com/cc/napa-thrives-climate-action-events-186579. Topics for the Series include: Saving Water & Water Efficiency, Saving Energy & Energy Efficiency, Preventing Waste & Green Purchasing, Integrated Pest Management & Prevention, and Social Equity, Diversity & Inclusion. There will be an Acceleration Gala on Saturday, July 30, at 6pm.

A strong believer in implementing sustainable practices in the industry, Harrop is a member of Napa Green and has led efforts in sustainable packaging. Keechler’s presentation topic will be “Lighten up and Ship Green” at the Preventing Waste & Green Purchasing event on Tuesday, June 14, 8:00am. In her presentation Keechler will discuss her work with suppliers of domestically made glass and competitively-priced lighter weight bottles in a wide range of styles, shapes, colors, and price points.

She will also discuss her work with Estal, Global Package’s Spanish supply partner, which is a leader in innovative bottle design and sustainable wine glass production. She’ll walk through Estal’s Wild Glass line of 100% sustainable “real cycled” glass bottles, which she helped introduce to the North American market. Wild Glass uses 100% recycled glass and its production method reduces energy use and CO2 emissions. It also results in fewer discards (from 25% to 10%), since the cosmetic (aesthetic) defects are accepted as part of the organic beauty of the glass, giving the bottles the look of handmade works of art.

Additionally, Keechler will discuss Global Package’s Elegant Light™ line of bottles, which are lighter weight bottles that result in more economical and ecological shipping.

The Napa Thrives mission states: “The climate crisis is no longer imminent. It is here. Fires, drought, heat spikes will continue to strike our industry. Coming together as sustainable winegrowing leaders is no longer optional, it is imperative.” Harrop applauds Napa Thrives in its efforts to accelerate sustainability in the industry.

Erica Harrop to Speak at NapaGreen Sustainability Conference Workshop on Tuesday, April 19th

Erica Harrop, President and CEO of Global Package LLC, will be giving a presentation on “All Things Bottle Sustainability” next week at Nickel & Nickel, 8164 St. Helena Highway in Oakville, CA. She will be first on the panel, beginning at 9:30am, and will discuss considerations for lighter bottle glass and using recycled glass bottles.

Global Package is well known for both its lighter-weight Elegant Light™ line of bottles, as well as for its distinctive 100% sustainable Wild Glass™ bottles.
Addressing environmental concerns, Global Package has in stock the full line of Elegant Light™ bottles, lighter weight bottles that result in more economical and ecological shipping, and which come in the full range of classical shapes and colors.

The company’s beautiful and ecological Wild Glass™ line of bottles has become widely popular in the US and international market. These bottles are 100% sustainable “real cycled” glass bottles that are one-of-a-kind, since slight imperfections in the natural formation of the glass are allowed to remain, while retaining all the manufacturing positives of automated glass, much like organic handmade art.

As an extra treat, Harrop will introduce the newest addition to the Wild Glass™ collection: Tarpon, a new brand owned by Jeremy Carter, who is totally focused on sustainability. See the accompanying photo of the gorgeous Tarpon bottle.

Join NapaGreen to be part of these valuable workshops.

Globalization Affects Us All by Erica Harrop, CEO Global Package

Next week we will be exhibiting in Booth #941 at this year’s Unified Show, January 25-27 at the SAFE Credit Union Convention Center in Sacramento. But as we prepare for the show, I’d like to share some thoughts.

It’s clear that supply chain challenges are still with us, casting a renewed spotlight on globalization and its impact on each one of us in the wine and spirits industry. It’s a big topic that most in the industry have spent little time thinking about, at least prior to the pandemic. But the realities of globalization have been Global Package’s continual focus since our founding, pushing us to continuously find the best partners with the best packaging and logistics solutions to advance our industry segments with enhanced creativity and innovation.

I recently reviewed a December 7, 2015 article in the Advertising Age Journal entitled “How to Manage Marketing When ‘Think Globally, Act Locally’ Isn’t Enough.” In the article the author discusses global business marketing and defines globalization as “coherence, reliability, and certainty, while addressing universal truths.” This prompted me to reflect on how worldwide sourcing has changed our prior perceptions and understandings.

All of us at Global Package believe that finding good partners and developing relationships is what globalization is all about; it is the crux of the concept. Whether your business is working with a supplier around the corner or across the seas, having that ‘coherence, reliability, and certainty’ is essential to a successful relationship.

Unfortunately, over the past two years the pandemic has strained many supplier-partner relationships. However, Global Package’s solid relationships with domestic and overseas partners have enabled us to keep our focus on reliability and creativity at the same time. While supply chain challenges continue, we are always receiving excellent up-to-date information from our partners here and abroad, enabling us to expeditiously fulfill our clients’ expectations and orders.

So we invite you to visit our Booth #941 at Unified. On display, you’ll find an impressive array of lightweight and beautifully shaped specialty bottles, as well as our sustainable Wild Glass™ bottles and our anti-drip Sommelier Mouth (SM) line.

Our entire sales staff, on both East and West coasts, will be on hand to help and to answer any questions you may have.

WIN Expo and Global Package Exhibit Were Great Successes!

Global Package LLC again exhibited at last week’s WIN Expo after the show’s year-long absence. In its booth, the company displayed the full range of bottles it has on hand in inventory, as well as the many innovative new bottles it has introduced over the past year.

Even with Covid protocols in place, including temperature checks at the door and masking for everyone, attendance was as good as in past years. “Turnout was great!” says Founder and CEO, Erica Harrop. “The enthusiasm was palpable. Everyone was happy to be there and they were asking lots of questions.”

On display were Estal’s unique bottle collections: the award-winning 100% ‘real cycle’ Wild Glass™ and the Sommelier Mouth bottles; both lines now include Flint glass options. “People are looking for new and interesting glass,” says Harrop, “and all were quite interested in our unique bottle shapes and the sustainable Wild Glass™ bottles. As part of the agricultural industry, we are all keenly aware of environmental issues. These ecologically produced bottles are a really promising direction for the glass industry, which needs to be part of the solution.”

Wild Glass™ features a beautiful organic and unique hand-made look with an ecologically sustainable production process, utilizing only post-consumer recycled glass. It’s a process that’s both efficient and sustainable, reducing CO2 output because it takes less energy to melt glass than converting raw material into glass.

Global Package also exhibited Estal’s Sommelier Mouth (SM) bottles, which feature an anti-drip barrier and groove guides to facilitate a clean, straight cut of the capsule. The line includes the Essentia Burgundy, Bordeaux, and fluted Espiga bottles. All are available in Flint, Wild Glass, and Antique options.

According to Harrop, supply chain issues were top-of-mind, but there was general consensus the situation was improving. “I was surprised to hear there’s still a lot of wine to be bottled. I think visitors were relieved to learn about our ability to expeditiously fill most orders.”

It was a splendid warm day and the show seemed to invigorate the industry. “People were glad to be there, coming from far and wide,” Harrop adds. “It was great to see friends from the foothills, as well as from Paso Robles. These wineries are making a mark in the industry.”

“Finally,” says Harrop, “I want to thank Sue Keechler, California Sales; Hunter Harris, East and Midwest sales; and Daniel Harrop, customer service, who were a tremendous help in the booth. They are terrific, knowledgeable members of the Global Package team!”

Prima & Rude glass

We Have New Designs and Quality Bottles: Plan Ahead By Erica Harrop

I was recently interviewed for a San Francisco Examiner article about supply chain hiccups that are impacting every aspect of our industry, including bottles: https://www.sfexaminer.com/news/champagne-problems-and-supply-chain-nightmares-san-franciscos-wine-industry-is-suffering/. While it is certainly true that supply disruptions are creating bottlenecks (pun intended) in both foreign and domestic delivery, preemptive planning has make all the difference at Global Package.

Even before this pandemic hit our shores, we were stocking our warehouses and showrooms with an impressive range of bottles, from classical styles in standard colors and weights to lightweight options, as well as an incredibly wide variety of distinctive bottles. We’ll display all of these collections in Booth #230 at the WIN Expo on Thursday, December 2nd  from 2 to 4pm.

As I mentioned in the article, getting bottles to their destinations has been challenging and, unfortunately, as a result costs have gone up for everything. But, while dock workers and truckers are in short supply our production partners have been busy, introducing new products throughout the past several years.

Our Spanish partner, Estal, came out early with its innovative Sommelier Mouth (SM) bottles, which feature an anti-drip barrier and groove guides to facilitate a clean, straight cut of the capsule. This line includes the Essentia Burgundy, Bordeaux, and fluted Espiga bottles, in Flint, Wild Glass, and Antique options.

Then Estal launched its gorgeous 100% ‘real cycle’ Wild Glass™ collection, which features a beautiful organic hand-made look made in an ecologically sustainable production process, utilizing only post-consumer recycled glass. It’s a process that’s both efficient and sustainable, reducing CO2 output because it takes less energy to melt glass than converting raw material into glass. We will be displaying new PRIMA and RUDE bottles in this unique Wild Glass™ collection. These, too, are available in Flint and Antique colors.

I’d like to stress that neither of these collections requires any changes on your the bottling line. It’s also Important to point out that the supply chain situation does necessitate getting orders in as early as possible to avoid missed deadlines and unavailable bottles. We encourage customers to visit our Booth #230 at WIN Expo to check out our newest bottles in these collections. We’ll also showcase our wide range of both stock and custom bottles, available in a variety of styles, shapes, and colors.

Looking forward to seeing you there!

Global Package Exhibits New Bottle Collections at WIN Expo 2021

Napa, CA October 27, 2021 — Global Package LLC Is thrilled to showcase new bottle collections in Booth #230 at the upcoming Wine Industry Expo. The Tradeshow and Conference will be held at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds in Santa Rosa on Thursday, December 2nd from 9am to 4pm.

The WIN Expo was paused last year due to COViD-19 precautions. According to Global Package President and CEO, Erica Harrop: “We are thrilled the Expo is back so we can show off our new award-winning bottle designs,” she enthuses. “It’s great to get back in touch with our colleagues at WIN and our friends and customers in the industry. The passage of time has not slowed the creative juices of our glass supply partners, so come and visit us to see what’s new! We will be showing off the new PRIMA and RUDE bottles in the distinctive Wild Glass™ collection.”

Estal’s acclaimed 100% ‘real cycle’ Wild Glass™ and the Sommelier Mouth collections both include new Flint glass options.

In addition, Global Package will be displaying the full line of Estal’s Sommelier Mouth (SM) bottles, which feature an anti-drip barrier and groove guides to facilitate a clean, straight cut of the capsule. The line includes the Essentia Burgundy, Bordeaux, and fluted Espiga bottles. All are available in Flint, Wild Glass, and Antique options.

“You have to see these unique bottles in person,” says Erica Harrop, President and CEO. “Our gorgeous new shapes in Wild Glass retain the slight imperfections in the natural formation of the glass, while retaining all the manufacturing positives of automated glass. And our Sommelier Mouth bottles highlight a slightly wider neck and more fluid figure, resulting in maximum strength and adding to the perception of a sleek higher-end bottle. Neither of these bottle collections requires any changes on the bottling line.”

Also on display at the Global Package booth will be samples of the company’s wide range of both stock and custom bottles, in a variety of styles, shapes, and colors. Visitors are encouraged to stop by Booth #230.

Thrilling to Get Back to Industry Events! By Erica Harrop

I recently returned from a wonderful trip to beautiful Kentucky for the ADI Craft Spirits Conference and Expo in Louisville. Global Package had a booth there, which was the first time we’d exhibited in more than a year and a half. What a joy it was to get back to meeting old and new friends at this event!

Kentucky is gorgeous this time of year (see photos): lush greenery, blue skies, historic buildings, and wonderful people. And there’s so much to see: The Kentucky Bourbon Trail, Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory, Churchill Downs/Kentucky Derby Museum, not to mention all the local distilleries and craft breweries. There are even many wineries!

While we think of California when it comes to wine, Kentucky has a good selection of vineyards and wineries, too, including the popular Purple Toad Cedar Creek, and Forest Edge wineries. Here’s a list of others, most with tasting rooms: https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attractions-g28938-Activities-c36-t132-Kentucky.html.

These conferences are always interesting and educational, offering everyone a chance to learn about the local culture and historical relevance of these states and regions in America.

I am so looking forward to renewing old friendships in person at our own upcoming regional shows: the WIN Expo on December 2nd in Santa Rosa and, of course, the 2022 Unified Wine & Grape Symposium/Trade Show on January 26 & 27 at the SAFE Credit Union Convention Center. I’ll be sending more information regarding the shows and our Booth #s, so stay tuned.

Looking forward to seeing you soon!

Global Package Adds to Its Beautiful Wild Glass™ Collection

Global Package LLC President and CEO, Erica Harrop, has announced new additions to its beautiful, near 100% recycled Wild Glass™ collection for wines and spirits. The new Wild Glass Dark™ collection—produced by one of Europe’s premier glass companies; Spain’s Estal—is being introduced this month and will be sold in the U.S. exclusively by Global Package.

“We are thrilled to add these new bottles to this extraordinary collection,” says Harrop. “Not only is the manufacturing process for these bottles shorter and more sustainable, it creates bottles each of which is unique and aesthetically beautiful in shape, color, and texture.”

Estal’s Wild Glass™ collection boasts a more sustainable and shorter manufacturing process by embracing “flaws” in the glass, which also tells the story of historical craftsmanship and a legacy of experimentation. “Wild” colors are unique color hues with natural variations to enhance distinctiveness. New designs being introduced this month include the Wild Glass Prima Expressione™ collection of Spumanti, Rhine, Burgundy, Bordelaise wine bottles.
Also new to the collection are the Wild Glass Rude™ spirits bottles, consisting of Lance, Farm, Pilot, Barrel, 1919, and Melee designs. This collection also allows customers efficient ways to expand and customize their bottles, from size and shape to choker diameter.

“I was intrigued by the word “Rude” in the collection name,” Harrop admits. “But I learned that it is drawn from a language being developed in today’s culture, based on asymmetry and imperfections in nature—such as knots in wood, wefts and wrinkles in textiles, veins in stone—and defects in fashion like the torn jeans so fashionable today. It’s fun to watch the Wild Glass™ collection morph into such creative new products!”
Global Package has been an acclaimed industry leader as it consistently introduces new designs into its extensive catalog of offerings, from its Elegant Light™ collection of lighter weight bottles to its opulent DobleAlto™ collection, as well as a full range of in-stock standard bottles.
